Story
Like braids of a challah, their paths crossed 3 times.
He was 19, visiting another college campus, when he saw her. She was a vision against the campus backdrop, her red hair a vibrant contrast to her white outfit, drawing the eyes of passersby, including his. He paused, captivated by her presence, and although they didn't speak, the memory of her lingered in his mind for years to come. The redhead in the white dress.
Years went by, their paths crossed again, amidst the corridors of their professional lives. He remembered her, but she was only meeting him for the first time. The sparks of friendship were there, but neither could deepen a friendship when their paths were in two different directions. When their work ended, so did their communication.
For both of them, Covid was an etch-a-sketch being shaken, life beginning anew in so many ways. And like seeds patiently waiting for rain in the desert, a love blossomed when they connected for the third time in a new city and a new understanding of what they sought for most.
Tidbits
What's a value you both share?
We both care about connection and the atmosphere for shared experiences, and this wedding is meant to be an extension of that shared value. We hope friends and family will come together and get to know each other in a meaningful way in this intimate setting.
Are there any meaningful traditions that hold special meaning?
We recently started hosting Shabbat dinners for friends and new guests, Jewish or not. Shabbat has started to hold a deeper meaning in our lives, not so much because of the religious aspects, but what it symbolizes as a day of rest and being present with others.
What's a goal you share?
Having been geo-flexible for a while and also realizing we love more than one city, we are trying (our best!) to find cities and communities we love to set down roots in them.
Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
Why, Bend?!
Surrounded by majestic mountains, expansive forests, and rushing rivers, Bendās landscape is a daily reminder of lifeās immense beauty. We took a risk and fell in love with a place that helped us discover new parts of ourselves. We hope youāll love this place too.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by June 15th, so we can have an accurate headcount. :)
What time should I arrive?
We highly recommend arriving Thursday, if possible, so you can unwind and enjoy the premises and onsite amenities. If you plan to arrive on Friday, we recommend checking in by the afternoon.
Will there be any activities happening that I need to know about?
Yes! If you are staying on-site, some activities require reservations ahead of time. Horse-back riding especially is extremely limited to small groups. Additionally, the golf course and the spa require advanced reservations.
We will be adding additional activity options as we get closer to the date.
There is a fully-equipped gym, multiple swimming pools, pickleball and tennis courts, and yoga and strength training available on the weekly Brasada ranch schedule. ()
Are kids welcome?
Yes! We know you are traveling far and wide and families are more than welcome. However, please let us know if you're bringing a child over the age of 5 to the reception in advance.
We will be providing recommendations for babysitting service. Additionally, there is a kids recreation club on-site for all guests staying at Brasada Ranch.
What will the weather be like?
Welcome to Bend, all of you out-of-towners! The weather here can be funny in September. During the day, the weather in Bend should be beautiful, averaging 60-80 degrees, but will get chilly at night. Please note: Bend is a 'high desert' climate. This means it gets cold at night and is extremely dry (no frizz, ladies!)
*Please bring some warm layers for the evening as we will be under the stars fireside*
Where should I park?
There is plenty of parking on-site at Brasada Ranch.
What should I wear?
Please see our Schedule for the dress code (more information coming).
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our reception will be indoors.
Whom should I call with questions?
Please email our lovely wedding planner, Chelsea with any logistics questions relating to the wedding weekend: chelsea@radianteventco.com
Will you have babysitters on the premises?
Our planner put together some local recommendations for you:
